Five on Friday | One

Happy Friday! I’m so glad this week is nearing an end. It hasn’t been an awful week, work-wise, but I’m on the tail end of a little cold so I’m glad to be able to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday. Aside from a volunteer event with Junior League tonight and a barre class on Sunday, I have a weekend with no plans and I’m looking forward to it!

I’m excited to be linking up with the Five on Friday virtual party today, so let’s do it! Here are five things I’m loving this week:

1 // Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Almond Milk Creamer

I sort of hate myself for this one, to be honest. It makes me feel like such a wannabe trendy basic bitch. But I’ve been trying to cut down on my dairy consumption so when Pretty in Pink Megan shared this creamer on her Snapchat, I immediately added it to my shopping list. I usually don’t love sweet coffee, but the caramel flavor is the perfect balance to the bitterness that can be office coffee.

2 // Library Hauls

Four of the five books I requested this month have come off the hold list at the library and into my hands! I have a book review post scheduled for next week sharing a few of the books I’ve read this year, and I’m excited to have more to start this weekend. I picked up We Could Be Beautiful by Swan Huntley (my book club’s pick!), The Assistants by Camille Perri, Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler, and Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica.

3 // Spring-like Weather

I have a feeling this is on many of our love lists this week! Although major temperature fluctuations are a cause of migraines for me, I’ve been prepared and taking medicine preventatively so that I can go out and enjoy the gorgeous weather. We’ve been able to open some windows and air out the house, take Kinsey out for some playtime, and even eat brunch outdoors! It’s been a nice respite from the cold before the temps plummet again next week.

4 // Meal Prepping

I’d love to dive into meal planning and prep in a longer post, but I’m not that experienced with it yet. My sister and I have decided we are going to create our own two-person meal club where we prep and trade meals each week. We’ve been sending each other recipes from Skinnytaste Fast and Slow by Gina Homolka, which has some really, really good options, including an entire section on Taco Tuesday! I also received a copy of Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe from Blogging for Books and I’ve tagged quite a few recipes to try. However, Eat Beautiful is more than a cookbook. Broken up by season, it contains pantry staples, beauty benefits of different foods, and an entire section on beauty tips and homemade recipes for skincare. I can’t wait to try the mini lemon tart recipe (yum!) and the rosewater toner (pretty skin!).

5 // Stranger Things on Netflix

I know I’m 100% behind the rest of the world with this one, but I sat down and watched all but the last episode of Stranger Things on Netflix a few weekends ago. It’s something that is 100% not my typical genre, but I cannot get enough of this completely 80s sci-fi show. I’m so excited that a new season will be coming out later this year, but in the meantime, I’ve got one more episode to watch!

So that’s all of my randomness for this week. If you have any suggestions for weekly meal prep or some other books to add to my library list, please share in the comments – the more options, the better! Have a great weekend, friends!
